How it works

When you open the generator, all the code needed to build your card and encode the QR runs in your browser. A QR code is just a visual encoding of text — when someone scans it with a phone camera, the phone reads that text and offers to save the contact, open the link, or dial the number. Because the encoding is done locally, you can use the tool offline once the page has loaded, and nothing you enter leaves your machine.
